PHOENIX -- After an active Thursday evening of storms, Friday morning brought humid air but clear skies. Look for an afternoon high of 101 degrees today, which will make it the coolest day so far this week.
While there is a slight chance of scattered storms today, there's a much better chance for rain this weekend.
Monsoon moisture returns this weekend, along with a big surge of moisture from Hurricane Norbert. While the storm won't head directly toward Arizona, it will push plenty of moisture into our state as it moves north, parallel to the Baja Peninsula.
There is a slight chance of rain during the day on Saturday, but the best chance of rain will occur Saturday night through Monday. In the Valley, rainfall totals between 1 and 2 inches are possible.
Temperatures will be below normal, dropping to the low to mid 90s by Sunday and staying there into next week.
Storm chances stay in the forecast through the middle of next week, although most of the heavy rain will be over by late Monday.
