PHOENIX (AP) -- The defeated candidates for the Republican nomination for Arizona governor are endorsing the winner, state Treasurer Doug Ducey.
The latest are Scott Smith and Christine Jones. They issued a joint statement Thursday announcing their endorsements of Ducey and saying they look forward to working with him as the state's next conservative Republican governor.
Secretary of State Ken Bennett, former California congressman Frank Riggs and former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas endorsed Ducey previously.
Ducey will face Democratic nominee Fred DuVal and Libertarian Barry Hess in the general election. Current Gov. Jan Brewer cannot run for re-election.
