Dad Squad: Dad Fashion

What would you call your style?  How important is fashion to you?  What does matter when you choose clothes?

I’ll call my style “Garanimals Professional”  Remember, the kids clothing line?  I’ve worked in nonprofit arts management for 20 years and it’s important to present a professional appearance without appearing stuffy or pretentious.  So, my professional wardrobe is filled with a variety of dark or light colored pants that I can mix & match with a variety of shirts, ties & a sports jacket.  I keep the selections simple, which makes it easy for me to mix & match!

Where do you usually shop?  Do you enjoy it?

For the most part, I’m a fan of Men’s Wearhouse.  They make it really easy to put together entire outfits that can mix & match.  I go back to the same store at Frank Lloyd Wright & Scottsdale Road because I’ve developed a relationship with the people there…  they know me and really have helped me develop my wardrobe – and especially look out for sales and other bargains.

Do your wife or kids shop for you or try to add some different choices to your wardrobe?  Are you open to suggestions?!

My wife shops for me a lot.  And Marshall’s is her absolute favorite store.  If I need a polo shirt or a belt or something, I just mention it and the next thing you know, she’s got it for me.  I’m really grateful for that because even though I really do care about my appearance, I totally hate shopping.
