GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale is already getting a makeover for the upcoming holiday season.

This year is the 20th anniversary of Glendale Glitters, the holiday celebration that the city of Glendale holds each year.

There are expected to be more than 1.5 million lights at Murphy Park at 58th and Glendale avenues in Historic Downtown Glendale.

"We've spent several months, several weeks planning just how it's going to be laid out and months preparing all the lights," said Ben Bennett, one of the Christmas light decorators. "And now we are going to be here for eight weeks putting them up."

There will be more animation in the park and more dancing lights this year, according to Bennett.

Glendale Glitters starts Nov. 28.
