Man arrested in shotgun shooting of ex-girlfriendPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix police have arrested a 55-year-old man in the shotgun shooting of his former girlfriend in her home.
According to police, Shannon Leshin on Saturday was found face-down in a pool of blood on the floor of her bedroom by her college-age daughter and another person who lived in the home.
It was originally reported that the victim was killed by stabbing.
Police later arrested Gary Lee Michaels, who made an initial court appearance Sunday. Court records don't list an attorney for him.
A police affidavit said investigators were told the Michaels was trying to rekindle his relationship with Leshin but that he had complained that she was seeing somebody else.

PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix police have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend.
Officer James Holmes says authorities located 55-year-old Gary Michaels on Saturday and plan to charge him in the murder of Shannon Leshin.
Holmes says police responded to a west Phoenix home on 17th Avenue, near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, around 12:45 p.m. and found 48-year-old Leshin with a stab wound in her upper body.
She was pronounced dead shortly after.
A witness in the home told police that she saw Leshin speaking with her ex-boyfriend, 55-year-old Gary Michaels, on Friday night.
The witness woke up Saturday and found Leshin in her bedroom and Michaels gone.
