PHOENIX -- Warmer-than-normal temperatures will be in the weather forecast for much of this week, with highs around the Valley running in the 105-110 degree range. Late week, we’ll see a bit of moisture sneak into the weather picture. Those higher humidity levels will knock temperatures down a bit.

Toward the end of the week, we’re also looking for a return of thunderstorms to the state. Late week, we’ll see some action in southern Arizona and in the mountains. By next weekend, there’s a chance for some thunderstorms in the Valley. Right now, the chances aren’t really all that high, but we’re trending toward an increase number of storms.

By the weekend, highs are going to drop off into the 90s around metro Phoenix.

And by the way, the climate stats are in for the month of August in Phoenix. Our temperatures ended up being two degrees below normal. That doesn’t happen very often. And rainfall of 1.17” was also above the average of 1-inch for August.
