MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a Mesa doctor is accused of sexual abuse after another patient has reported being inappropriately touched by him during a medical exam.

Mesa police said Monday that Dr. Manuel Abrante is being held on suspicion of two counts of sexual abuse.

They say the 56-year-old Abrante has declined comment on the advice of his attorney.

A 45-year-old woman told Mesa police that Abrante inappropriately touched her during a medical exam Friday.

Investigators arrested Abrante after discovering a similar complaint against him in 2006.

Court records show that case also involved a 45-year-old woman, who didn't seek prosecution against Abrante until now.
