Save the Dogs Event
The owners of these dogs formed the Gilbert 23 Rescue Mission with the goal of saving every dog on the euthanasia list at the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) facili-ties on Aug. 23, 2014. The Gilbert 23 Rescue Mission , in cooperation with several valley rescue groups, is actively seeking local families to foster a dog and save a life. In order to participate, the potential foster will need to complete and submit an application to a rescue group. The group will then provide all necessary information and will conduct a home visit to approve the foster for participation. Rescues can also help if you are interesting in fostering with the intention to adopt that particular dog.

If you would like to adopt a dog directly from the shelter on Aug. 23, the adoption fee that day is only $20 for dogs 3 months and older and will include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations including rabies, and licensing. Please visit one of the following facilities to adopt a dog or cat:

MCACC East Shelter
2630 W. Rio Salado Parkway
Mesa, AZ 85201

MCACC West Shelter
2500 S. 27th Avenue

Please send an email to info@thegilbert23.com and a rescue group will contact you about volunteering.
