18 People injured after 6-car pileup in Surprise

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- A teenager and two children have been taken to hospitals while 15 other people are being treated at the scene of a six-car accident in Surprise.

Authorities say the chain-reaction accident occurred about 2:30 p.m. Friday crash on Greenway Road near Parkview Lane.

Surprise Fire Department officials say a 6-year-old boy with head trauma and a 2-year-old girl with facial trauma were taken by ambulance to Phoenix Childrens Hospital.

They say a 16-year-old boy was taken to Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West.

The conditions of the three weren't immediately available.
