PHOENIX – A Phoenix pastor is accused of sex crimes involving female members of his church, according to police.

Jorge Vasquez, 47, was arrested Thursday at his home near 87th Avenue and Thomas Road. He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail.

Vasquez faces multiple counts of child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor, sexual abuse and sexual assault.

Phoenix police detectives received information that Vasquez allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with two girls and two women associated with The Rock Church (La Roca Church) near 21st Avenue and Buckeye Road on numerous occasions between January 2007 and May 2014.

Detectives believe that Vasquez took advantage of the victims, who were between the ages of 12 and 33, through his position as a minister.

Vasquez allegedly was involved in sexual conduct with the victims against their will during counseling sessions or other occasions when he was alone with them, according to police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson.

"In his capacity as a minister he would have the occasion to provide counseling or have private meetings with these women and these girls," said Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix Police  Dept. "During the course of those meetings he would engage in some type of sexual conduct which was unsolicited."

Anyone with information concerning these crimes is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-5151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.
