RIMROCK, Ariz. (AP) -- Two men from Lakeside have been injured after the small plane they were in crashed at the Rimrock airport.
Yavapai County Sheriff's officials say witnesses reported that the single-engine aircraft was making a takeoff maneuver when it went down in terrain below the level of the runway about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities say weather conditions were poor at the time with rain and low clouds.
Sheriff's officials say 61-year-old pilot Ronald Manette and 48-year-old passenger Grady Hillis both were found conscious inside the Mooney M20F plane and transported by ambulance to Flagstaff Medical Center.
They say both men were being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
It wasn't immediately clear where the plane was headed.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
