Surprise police arrest 3 suspects in door-kick burglaries

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Three Phoenix men are facing burglary charges after police said they broke into two homes in Surprise and took valuables, including electronics and jewelry.

Sergioa Bugarin-Casas, 18, Allan Gavino, 20, and Nicholas Moody-McGonigle, 20, were arrested Aug. 4 in the area of Bell Road and 98th Avenue.

Sgt. Mike Donovan with the Surprise Police Department said the men kicked in the front doors of two homes near Bell Road and Bullard Avenue, stole items then left the area in a vehicle.

Police found stolen items in their possession and returned them to the victims.

Each suspect was booked into Fourth Avenue Jail on charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.

Surprise police and investigators from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office are trying to determine if the suspects are responsible for other similar burglaries in the northwest valley.
