GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Goodyear police have arrested a woman in connection with a fatal DUI crash earlier this year.
Starr-Nesha Branch, 35, faces several charges, including manslaughter, aggravated assault and driving while under the influence of drugs.
Police said Branch collided with a vehicle at McDowell and Citrus roads on April 26. The driver in that car, Josie Sandoval, died. Two other passengers in that vehicle were seriously injured, including a child.
The fatal collision occurred after Branch rear-ended another vehicle at Cotton Lane and McDowell Road then fled the scene when the victim advised that she was calling 911.
During the DUI investigation, Branch's blood was drawn and submitted to the Arizona Department of Public Safety for analysis. Police recently received the results and said Branch's blood tested positive for several different drugs.
Branch was located on Friday and booked into Fourth Avenue Jail where she is being held on $250,000 bond.
