PHOENIX -- Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in the backyard of a home.
It happened at 17322 N. 23rd Street on Saturday. That is near Cave Creek and Bell roads.
Police and paramedics responded to the home after someone reported an injured person. They found a man who was lying unresponsive.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the man has signs of trauma.
There were people at the home but they said they did not witness what happened to the victim.
Neighbors told police that people were always coming and going from the home and it appeared there was illegal activity going on there.
The victim has been tentatively identified. It was determined he had frequented the residence previously, but did not live there. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness.
