Monsoon storms return to ArizonaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- After a break from storms last week, the monsoon is back in business across Arizona.
Saturday morning, a few sprinkles fell across the Valley after dew points rose almost 20 degrees from the previous day. By the afternoon, Phoenix Sky Harbor reported a trace of rain from a stray shower.
Showers and storms were seen lighting up Doppler radar Saturday afternoon across the Mogollon Rim, White Mountains, southeastern Arizona and northwestern Arizona.
As a moist southeasterly flow continues to pump into Arizona, storm chances will increase during the afternoons and evenings for the next several days. The best storm chances will be across higher terrain. The Valley will have its best chance for storms on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week before conditions start to dry out again.
Saturday afternoon, Phoenix Sky Harbor reported a high of 104 after a morning low of 84. Sunday and Monday should include similar temperatures, with lows in the low 80s and highs around 105.
