KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- A 120-pound bell that went missing from a Kingman church has been returned.

The Kingman Daily Miner reports that the brass bell was brought back to St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday by a man who wished to remain anonymous.

Church parish coordinator Donna Wicker says the man told her he had informed Kingman police in an anonymous phone call about the bell's whereabouts and was working with them.

Kingman police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki says authorities did get an anonymous call about the bell but did not disclose any other details.

Wicker says the bell was caked in dirt, indicating it had been buried.

The bell was last seen March 22.

Wicker says the church will likely place the bell in the belfry after church construction work is completed.
