NOGLAES, Ariz. -- A 60-year-old man was arrested Thursday after allegedly trying to smuggle 11 pounds of methamphetamine across the Arizona-Mexico border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said officers at the Mariposa crossing inspected a Chevrolet truck driven by Jesus Ocegueda-Ocegueda, of Mexico, after a narcotics detection K-9 alerted to the possible presence of drugs.

More than $32,000 worth of meth was reportedly found in the firewall area beneath the windshield wipers.

The vehicle and drugs were processed for seizure, and Ocegueda-Ocegueda was referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
