STANFIELD, Ariz. – Homicide detectives with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office arrested two suspects in the death of a 22-year-old Stanfield man four months ago.
Luis Albert Hernandez, 33, and Estevan E. Angulo, 35, both of Stanfield, are facing charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping. Both remain in custody at the Pinal County Jail. Hernandez has a $500,000 bond and Angulo has a $250,000 bond.
The sheriff's office received a 911 call from a motorist on March 15 regarding a man's body found inside a vehicle near Stanfield and Miller roads in the unincorporated area of Stanfield. Officials said he had been fatally shot.
The victim was identified as Juan Perez Jimenez.
Hernandez and Angulo were arrested after a lengthy investigation. Authorities said the two men made incriminating statements as to their involvement in the case when they were interviewed.
"Juan Perez Jimenez was shot and left to die in what appears to be an execution style murder," Sheriff Paul Babeu said in a news release. "I hope with the arrests of Hernandez and Angulo the Jimenez family will have some closure and can start the healing process for the senseless murder of their son."
