PHOENIX -- Enough monsoon moisture is in place over the Desert Southwest to continue storm chances for Arizona through the weekend.
While it's been an active Saturday in parts of the state, it's remained quiet in the Valley. While there is a slight chance of storms this evening, any storms that develop would likely be isolated. Widespread thunderstorm development is not expected in the Valley tonight.
Storm chances are a bit higher for the Valley on Sunday, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Look for an afternoon high of about 107 degrees under partly sunny skies. There is a 30 percent chance of storms both Sunday and Monday in the Valley.
Drier air and a westerly flow could inhibit storm chances during the middle of next week, and afternoon temperatures will continue to stay a bit above average, in the 105-108 degree range. Overnight lows are expected to stay warm, generally in the 80s in the Valley.
