PHOENIX – If you want to vote in next month’s primary election, you have until Monday at midnight to register.

"It is encouraging to see the citizens of Arizona taking seriously their role in government," Secretary of State Ken Bennett said Tuesday in a news release. "The ability to vote for our leaders is a fundamental right more people should exercise."

In order to be eligible to vote, you must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States and a legal resident of the Arizona county listed on your registration.

You can check your current registration information on the secretary of state's website, Click on the Voter View icon and then Registration Information to see your polling place, party affiliation, whether you’re on the permanent early voter list and more. You will need to enter either your voter ID number or your driver license number to access the details.

If you still need to register, you can do so by mail, in person and online.

Mail-in registration forms are available from your county recorder and also online from Click on the Voter Registration icon. Fill in the form, print it, sign and date it, and then mail the form to the county recorder of the county of legal residence. Don't forget the stamp.

In-person registration is available at the recorder’s office in each of Arizona’s 15 counties.

If you are a legal Arizona resident and have an identification card or driver license issued by the state, you may register to vote or update your voter registration online at

In an effort to boost voter registration, the Office of the Secretary of State will host a registration drive on Monday, July 28, the final day to register to vote in the Aug. 26 primary.
