GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- A cat in the West Valley needed some saving on Sunday.

The cat was stuck in a storm drain near the LA Fitness at Cotton Lane and Yuma Road in Goodyear.

3TV viewer Eva Gonzales said she and her boyfriend heard the cat meowing.

After being unable to get the cat out themselves, Goodyear firefighters and the Arizona Humane Society showed up to help.

The cat was down there for a while, but the rescue teams put their heads together and used their equipment to get the feline out of the drain.

The cat then tried to make a run for it, but the rescuers caught it and the four-legged friend was taken to get some medical attention.
