TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Two brothers have been arrested in a Tucson road rage incident in which a 9-year-old girl was shot in the leg.

Tucson police say 19-year-old Oscar Santa Maria and 20-year-old Carlos Santa Maria have been booked into Pima County Jail on suspicion of drive-by shooting.

They say Carlos Santa Maria also is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say the road rage incident started as a traffic argument between the drivers of an SUV and car Thursday night and led to an exchange of gunfire from both vehicles.

The girl suffered an injury that was not life-threatening and was transported to a Tucson hospital for treatment.

Police say charges are pending against the SUV's driver, whose name wasn't immediately released Friday.
