YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. -- A man who is in jail on assault charges is now accused of trying to get a key witness killed, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

An informant approached officials with the Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission (GIITEM) and indicated a female was going to be murdered in order to prevent her from testifying in court against Pedro Sandoval Flores.

Flores, 28, conspired with Fidel Flores to murder the 26-year-old woman for $3,000.

Fidel Flores offered an undercover detective $1,000 as a down payment for the murder. When the murder was completed, Flores was set to pay the detective another $2,000.
