GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found at a construction yard of a Glendale business Wednesday morning.
Police and firefighters were called to the business near 56th and Glendale avenues around 10:30 a.m., after employees found the 44-year-old woman unresponsive.
Firefighters pronounced her dead at the scene.
Glendale police spokeswoman Officer Tracey Breeden said detectives are in the initial stages of the investigation, but they do not suspect any suspicious activity. There were reportedly no obvious signs of trauma to the body. The cause of death is unknown.
According to Breeden, the woman has been positively identified, but her name was not released because her family had not yet been notified Wednesday afternoon.
Breeden said it appears the woman was a transient in the area.
