Valley Metro bus, SUV involved in Chandler collision

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Four passengers were on board a bus when it was involved in a collision Wednesday in Chandler.

According to Chandler police, an SUV collided with a Valley Metro bus at Chandler Boulevard and Cooper Road at about 11 a.m.

Detective Seth Tyler said the Ford Explorer entered the intersection on a red light and struck the bus.

The bus swerved and ended up in a gravel ditch next to a Chevron station.

Both vehicles sustained damage, but no serious injuries were reported.

Tyler said there were no signs of impairment.

No citations have been issued at this time.
