PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a Prescott man is accused of breaking into the home of a 61-year-old woman and sexually assaulting her.

Prescott police say 52-year-old Charles Howe is being held at the Camp Verde Detention Center on suspicion of sexual assault, aggravated assault, burglary and violation of a court order.

Police were called about 5 a.m. Saturday about a reported home invasion and sexual assault.

A neighbor says the victim was naked and bleeding.

Police say they located Howe and his face was bleeding. They say Howe appeared highly agitated and he was detained for questioning.

The woman told police she befriended Howe about three years ago but he became obsessed with her and she had an active order of protection against him.

It's unclear if Howe has a lawyer yet.
