The Men in Blue at Phoenix Children's Hospital
Today at 10 a.m. the game of life is not about balls and strikes, that's why baseball's men in blue have teamed up with Bristol-Myers Squibb and Major League Baseball to host caring Build-A-Bear Workshop experiences for children coping with serious illness and injury.
Diamondbacks mascot, Baxter and umpire crew will present words of encouragemnt and a Build-A-Bear stuffed animal to patients and families at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Zero in on water safety
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Already this year there have been as many drowning incidents as there were in all of 2013. The Phoenix Aquatics Department and Phoenix Fire Department ask your help to zero in on water safety. Many children do not know how to swim or are not strong swimmers. These children quickly find themselves in life threatening situations at pool parties. Peer pressure is a factor in children literally getting in over their heads. Other children and even adults do not realize they are in distress until it is too late. Don't let another child become a statistic. Swim lessons are appropriate for ALL ages.
There will be swim lessons available and demonstrations of effective and ineffective flotation devices.
2125 N. 15th Avenue
