Mesa police seek suspect in CVS armed robbery

MESA, Ariz. – Mesa police are asking for the public's help to identify an armed robbery suspect.

Police said the male suspect walked into a CVS near Ellsworth and Brown roads at about 7:45 p.m. Sunday and selected several items. He approached the checkout counter, lifted his shirt to display a handgun and told the clerk to open the register.

The clerk placed money into a CVS bag along with the items the suspect had selected.

The suspect exited the store and got into the driver's seat of a car that was backed into a parking spot on the south side of the CVS. The vehicle was seen leaving westbound on Brown Road.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with white writing or emblem on the front, black T-shirt with a long-sleeved navy blue shirt or jacket draped over his back, baggy blue jeans and white shoes.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver or gray four-door, possibly newer model Honda Accord, with no distinguishing features.
