LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – A 23-year-old U.S. Marine died after colliding with a boat while riding a Jet Ski on Lake Havasu Friday afternoon.

Chad Ryan Brammer was riding the personal watercraft in the South Basin, across from Copper Canyon, when he reportedly crossed the bow of a 31-foot Advantage boat, according to Trish Carter with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.

Brammer was thrown into the water. Carter said he was wearing a life jacket.

A good Samaritan passing by in another boat pulled Brammer from the water and called 911.

The Lake Havasu Fire Department transported Brammer to Havasu Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Carter said the Advantage boat operator is a Lake Havasu City resident and there were five passengers aboard the boat.

Brammer, of Lambertville, Michigan, was stationed at Twentynine Palms Marine Base in California.

The accident is still under investigation.
