PHOENIX -- The monsoon ramps up a bit more this week with our best storm chances in the Valley this evening through Wednesday.
After an afternoon high of about 106 degrees, look for a 40 percent chance of storms this evening in the Valley, with the primary threats being heavy rain, strong winds and lightning.
Storm chances continue though all week as plenty of moisture and a steering flow from the east remains in place, which is favorable for moving storms off the Rim and into the Valley. Temperatures should range from 102-106 in the Valley during the afternoons this week.
With plenty of moisture in our atmosphere, any storms that do develop have the potential for heavy rain this week.
The Valley is also under a Health Watch today for both ozone and dust. There is a threat for blowing dust this afternoon and evening from storms that could form to our south and southeast.
