MESA, Ariz. -- Investigators are trying to determine what caused a first-alarm fire at a Mesa construction business Saturday.

It happened near Southern Avenue and Mesa Drive.

The fire reportedly started in some cardboard boxes and spread to supplies at the business, sending large black plumes of smoke into the air.

Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to other businesses.
