PHOENIX (AP) -- A Glendale man is in custody in connection with the thefts of four motorcycles stolen from a mechanic school in north Phoenix.

Phoenix police say a citizen was attempting to buy three Harley Davidson motorcycles on Tuesday from 27-year-old Marcus Salguero. When the citizen tried to get a bonded title for one, it was determined that it was stolen.

Police later learned from the citizen that Salguero had, in total, four motorcycles and an engine for another in his possession. All were stolen from a local mechanic school.

They say the items are valued at $45,000 and have been recovered.

Police say Salguero is jailed on suspicion of four counts of theft of means of transportation.

It was unclear Wednesday if Salguero has a lawyer yet.
