PHOENIX -- Independence Day in Arizona is the only place where the temperatures are as hot as the fireworks in the skies. And the sweltering heat sure begs for a cold, tasty treat.

In a patriotic spirit, The Gelato Spot, will offer half-off Gelato scoops at all its Valley locations from noon  to 9:00 p.m. on July 4, 2014, in celebration of the national holiday.

"The 4th of July is all about celebrating our freedom and independence, so what better way than to cut our profits this day and celebrate America's Birthday," said Tommy Plato, owner of The Gelato Spot.

Enjoy a taste of red white and blue with Blueberry Mascarpone, white Coconut, and red Blood Orange Creamsicle flavors. And everything is made fresh.

"Every day, fresh ingredients" says Plato. "Fresh fruit. Milk, sugar, cream."

Don't forget to try the "Almond Snickers" flavor, which has been the company's best-selling flavor for a decade.

The Gelato Spot can feed your savory cravings as well! The Old Town Scottsdale location also serves up hot wood fired pizza - including an American Pizza that is topped with spicy pepperoni, hot Italian sausage, and plenty of Parmesan.
