PHOENIX – A car fire spread to a South Phoenix home Tuesday morning.

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a car fire near Southern and 41st avenues at around 11:15 a.m.

Firefighters found a fully involved vehicle underneath a carport and called for additional trucks to assist with the fire, which was spreading to the house.

Capt. Ruben Saavedra said crews were able to keep the fire isolated to the carport and attic area.

The homeowner said a neighbor noticed the car on fire and alerted the occupants.

All occupants, including two dogs, one horse and two chickens, are safe.

No firefighters were injured.
