MESA, Ariz. – A 24-year-old man faces DUI charges after Mesa police found him passed out at the wheel of his vehicle.
Two patrol officers were dispatched to the area of Ninth Avenue and Mesa Drive at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Sunday. They located Jessie Huslloimea unresponsive inside a red Chevy Impala, which was still in drive with the engine running.
The two officers boxed the Impala in with their two vehicles then knocked on the window. Huslloimea allegedly attempted to accelerate but was stopped by the police Tahoe in front of him.
A police spokesman said Huslloimea refused to obey the officers' commands and continued trying to leave. The officers broke the Impala's front windows and used force to get Huslloimea out of the car.
The officers said Huslloimea smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot watery eyes, a flushed face and was belligerent.
Huslloimea was arrested and booked into jail on DUI charges.
