PHOENIX -- Expect Valley highs by the middle of next week to be in the 110- to 114-degree range. It’s possible we’ll also see some heat warnings issued.

It’s also possible we’ll see the number of monsoon thunderstorms increase a bit, though they will mostly be limited to the higher elevations of our state.

A weak area of low pressure passing by to our north will bring an increase in wind to the region Thursday along with slightly cooler conditions Friday.

A steady warming trend will then take place during the weekend and into early next week as high pressure builds northward.

Well-above normal temperatures are expected by the middle of next week along with an increase in monsoonal moisture.

The weekend through early next week will be characterized by gradually building high pressure as the eastern Pacific ridge migrates northward. A steady warming trend can be expected with high temperatures returning to the above-normal range by Sunday.
