PRESCOTT, Ariz. – A tip helped lead Prescott police to a bank robbery suspect.

Police said the Compass Bank on East Gurley Street was robbed at approximately 9:45 a.m. Monday. In the afternoon, detectives received a tip from a concerned citizen identifying a possible suspect.

Lt. Ken Morley said this information combined with the investigation and the collection of evidence led to the arrest of Tyron Rock Higgins, 27, of Prescott.

Higgins was taken into custody Monday afternoon as he approached his car in the Frontier Village shopping center.

A search warrant was served on Higgins' home and police seized additional evidence related to the robbery, according to Morley.

Higgins was booked into Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde for robbery. He also was charged with additional felonies based on a probation violation warrant and drug possession charges.
