PHOENIX -- How does some free bowling sound on these hot summer nights?

Bowlmor AMF is hoping to back the Saturday night family bowling tradition by offering a free hour of bowling on Saturday, June 21 at all of its locations.

"Just to get the families out," says Jason Hall of Bowlmor AMF. "It's a sport you can do together; anyone can do it. You don't have to be good!"

The Saturday evening event will include a nationwide attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for 'The Most People Bowling Simultaneously in Multiple Venues.' The free nationwide party and world record attempt is part of an effort to help re-establish Saturday night as "Bowling Night in America."

Taking place throughout all 262 Bowlmor AMF locations across the country, the public is encouraged to stop by their local AMF lanes for a free hour of bowling. It starts at 4:15 p.m.

The record-breaking event coincides with the launch of Bowlmor AMF'S new national advertising initiative, "Bowling Makes Saturday Night More Fun," the first national advertising campaign for a bowling alley brand since the 1970s.

With the recent merger of the upscale Bowlmor Lanes with the classic AMF, the company hopes to continue to pave the way for the resurgence of bowling, bringing it back into popular culture and attracting a younger audience to America's largest participatory sport.
