Phoenix police arrest bank robbery suspect

PHOENIX -- Phoenix police have arrested a suspect in the robbery of a Chase Bank at Northern and 35th avenues earlier this week.

After releasing surveillance photos of the suspect, police received several calls identifying him as Eric Goins Jr.

Police were able to determine Goins' location on Tuesday and took him into custody in the area of Van Buren and 29th streets.

No one was injured during the robbery, which happened at around 2 p.m. Monday.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 200 to 230 pounds with dark skin and a muscular build. He was wearing a light-colored long sleeve shirt at the time of the robbery.

Goins was booked into jail on one count of armed robbery.
