MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a pilot emerged uninjured after his experimental aircraft went down in Mesa.

Mesa firefighters were called around 6 a.m. Thursday to McDowell and Higley roads after reports of a downed aircraft.

Capt. Forrest Smith says most of the firefighters were called back after the pilot was reportedly walking around on his own.

No other information about the incident was released.
