PHOENIX -- Anyone with a layover at Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport now has a new, fitness-friendly way to spend their extra time. The airport open es a new 2-mile fitness trail today.

The Sky Harbor Fitness Trail winds around terminal 4, the airport's busiest terminal. In addition to being a workout, the trail also shows walkers some of Arizona's natural and man-made sightseeing draws.

The trail gives views of Piestewa Peak, Camelback Mountain and the airport's own PHX Sky Train Bridge, among other sights from inside of terminal 4

Those taking on the fitness trail or just trying to stay hydrated before flights can also use new water bottle-filling stations around terminal 4. The airport installed seven of the stations to fill bottles with chilled water.

The fitness trail is a complement to the city of Phoenix FitPHX initiative, a program intending to get Phoenix residents into better shape. More information about the trail and FitPHX can be found at Sky Harbor's website.
