MCSO seeks suspect in Anthem armed robbery

PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in solving an armed robbery that happened Friday in front of the Safeway store in Anthem.

According to detectives, the suspect struck a Subway employee carrying an unknown amount of money in the head with his fist and then again with a small handgun.

The victim's injuries were minor, but the suspect took the money.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, 250 pounds with brown wavy hair. He was wearing a gray O'Neill T-shirt, blue shorts with white stripes, dark shoes and had a blue bandanna over his face.

He was last seen leaving the scene in a gray or light blue Honda Element. A second person was in the vehicle, but no description is available.
