MESA, Ariz. -- A man who was recently released from an Arizona prison was arrested in a carjacking Wednesday night, according to Mesa police.
Aaron Miller, 31, allegedly approached a 46-year-old man in the parking lot of the Autozone near Main Street and Williams, just west of Gilbert Road, and demanded the man's car keys, cellphone and wallet at gunpoint.
Police were notified and spotted the silver 2004 Dodge Intrepid near Gilbert Road and Hampton Avenue and followed it until it stopped at the Fry's grocery store at Gilbert and Baseline roads.
Miller reportedly fled into the store and was taken into custody by Mesa police.
Police said the victim identified Miller as the carjacker.
Miller was recently released from the Arizona Department of Corrections and has been on supervised probation, according to police.
He was booked on felony charges of armed robbery, vehicle theft and prohibited possession of a firearm.
