Burning Weeds
The Peoria Fire Department is reminding our residents about the danger of burning weeds and the potential consequences.  Often these fires get into the walls of a home and may not produce visible smoke or flames for up to 30 minutes or more after the weeds have been burned. This often leaves those inside the home unaware of the fire, and gives them little time to get out safely. While some may consider burning weeds a good way of removing them, in the City of Peoria, Fire Code prohibits any burning like this.
