TEMPE, Ariz. -- Budding young stage performers are honing their talents and learning new skills this summer at Camp Broadway 2014, offered at ASU's Gammage Auditorium in Tempe.

Camp Broadway is a performing arts summer camp, direct from New York, offering a summer workshop for for theater-loving kids ages 10-17.

It's taking place at Gammage June 2-6, 2014. Campers are getting to work with distinguished Broadway performers, writers and designers through classes in acting, scene study, improvisation, music theory, singing and dancing.

At the end of the five-day camp, they put on their own production, called the Family Finale. "It's all about getting to Friday," organizers tell us. "It's amazing what these kids can accomplish in five days, so it is jam-packed with singing, dancing and acting."

"I absolutely love the challenge and fun," young camper Anna told 3TV. "Getting to interact with everybody, and even in such a short amount of time, to pull together something so amazing."

Campers are also getting the opportunity to see the classic hit Broadway musical, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, as well as meet some of the cast and crew.

Camp Broadway helps young performers develop self-esteem, learn teamwork skills and inspire creative potential.
