PHOENIX -- Valley residents experienced their first 110-degree day of 2014 Monday, and today brings a repeat of that level of heat.
A strong ridge of high pressure will bring afternoon temperatures back to near 110 degrees this afternoon. High clouds will bring partly sunny skies, but humidity will stay fairly low.
That dry air and clearing skies will bring cooler overnight lows in the mid 70s over the next couple of nights and mornings.
The Valley continues to be under an Excessive Heat Warning until Thursday at 8 p.m.
Residents are urged to limit their time outside during the hot afternoon hours and to drink extra water.
There's not much relief is in the forecast anytime soon. Afternoon temperatures are only forecast to drop to near 107 degrees by the end of this week.
