PHOENIX -- Police are searching for a man who robbed a Phoenix bank Wednesday afternoon after two failed attempts at other banks.
The first robbery attempt was reported about 3:30 p.m. at the Bank of America at 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road. Police believe that about half an hour later, the same man tried to rob a Wells Fargo Bank near Camelback and Dysart roads.
He then struck the U.S. Bank at 35th Avenue and Bell Road and fled with cash.
The suspect, dubbed the "Spectator Bandit," is described as a white man in his mid to late 20s. He is about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and has a thin build.
He was seen wearing a long-sleeved gray pullover. He was wearing a blue or black baseball cap at Bank of America but later seen wearing a red and black Chicago Bulls cap at U.S. Bank.
