PHOENIX -- Sweet Republic opened its third location in Phoenix on the corner of 16th Street and Bethany Home Road earlier this month.

Shortly after opening their doors in summer 2008, Sweet Republic was named the Valley's best ice cream by Phoenix New Times. Owners Jan Wichayanuparp and Helen Yung believe thier success stems from their innovative flavors, artisan craftsmanship and premium ingredients.

Our flavor creations, such as decadent Salted Butter Caramel Swirl, refreshing Basil Lime sorbet and the famous Cheese Course Duo (a pairing of blue cheese with Arizona Medjool dates that, surprisingly, really works), are based on the combination of both our worldwide travels.

Because Yug handcrafts all Dweet Republic's ice cream in small batches, the selection changes regularly. They do promise 24 flavors of ice cream, sorbet and yogurt daily - both unique and classic.

3TV's Tess Rafols checked out the new shop.
