Phoenix Caribbean Carnival promises weekend of food, fun, music and culture

PHOENIX -- This Memorial Day weekend marks the third year for the Phoenix Caribbean Carnival.

The City of Phoenix has welcomed back this highly anticipated weekend filled with events that bring Caribbean cultural awareness to the Valley of the Sun.  Attendees will gather in amazement at the dazzling parade and festival with the theme presentation "The Splendor, The Culture, The Caribbean, The Carnival!" featuring Stilt Walkers, Steel Bands, Traditional Ole' Mas, Junior and Senior Masqueraders in colorful garb and masks and Native American Dancer.

The Caribbean American Phoenix Carnival Cultural Association of Arizona (CAPAZ) was originally formed to bring a voice for the Caribbean and Caribbean American community bringing cultural expression and pride.This event attracts hundreds of travelers from around the United States to this dynamic three day celebration. The Carnival village which will be open on Sunday morning after the parade will showcase local and international musical performances, art exhibit stations and tasty cultural cuisines. A full schedule of signature events will keep your entire family counting down the days to the next Caribbean Carnival Celebration.

THE WHITE AFFAIR PARTY Saturday, May 24, 2014, 9PM-2AM, in the Courtyard of Park Central Mall in front of Seay's, 3121 N 3rd Avenue, Suite #140 in Down Town Phoenix. Cost: $10 before 11PM. Guests are invited to wear all white (or at least something white) to our premier evening event. This will be a night of celebration, live entertainment, DJ music, Caribbean cuisine and a great bar!
