Phoenix weather: Mild weather continuesPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Arizona gets a few more days of relief from the triple digits before summer-like heat returns to the forecast.
High winds are expected to improve a bit in Northern Arizona today, with 10 to 20 mph winds out of the south expected in the Oak Creek Canyon area. Gusts could reach 30 mph.
In the Valley, we'll see another below-average day when it comes to our temperatures. After morning lows in the 50s and 60s, look for partly sunny skies and afternoon highs in the low 90s. Normal temperatures for this time of year are in the upper 90s.
Tomorrow, we'll see upper 80s and low 90s are expected on Saturday. Both days bring a slight chance of thunderstorms in the Valley, and a slightly higher chance for isolated thunderstorms in the high country.
Storms bring a chance of rain, but rain totals would be light.
Gusty winds from thunderstorm outflows could cause problems near the fire lines, and dry lightning brings a threat for new fires.
On Sunday, the area of low pressure finally begins to move away from Arizona and we begin to warm up. Look for a Valley high of 98 on Sunday and 101 on Monday, Memorial Day.
